A lighting project needs to consider both the environment architecture and the style in use, keeping in mind a harmonious combination of the walls colors. The light fixtures must follow the use and the amount of time the person will remain in each area. Once the lighting project is finished – whether for a new facility or for remodeling – the shape and power of each light bulb must be chosen. Fluorescent X Incandescent light bulbs In the areas where the light bulbs are kept on for less than two hours or are constantly turned on and off (which reduces the useful time of the light bulb) it’s ideal to use 60W incandescent light bulbs, otherwise changing incandescent for fluorescent compact light bulbs may result in higher costs. The right lighting for each area External areas: Buildings and stairways halls: chose incandescent light bulbs activated by movement sensors or minute counters. Fluorescent light bulbs are more appropriate for places where lighting is needed all night long. Internal areas: Kitchen: Use circular fluorescent light bulbs. Over the sink, counter, or table it’s recommended the use of spot lights. Living room: use tubular or circular fluorescent or incandescent light bulbs. Den or study areas: here the lighting must be even. Use circular fluorescent light bulbs. Bedrooms: use incandescent light bulbs. Hallways: chose compact incandescent low power light bulbs. Bathroom: chose white incandescent low power light bulbs on both sides of the mirror.
